Born Roger Kassiano Smith in Hanover Jamaica, Kassiano a taurean started singing and performing at the age of six. Three years later, he won his first gold medal in the national performing arts festival. This was the genesis of a prolific career as a recording artist, writer and musician, as in the years to follow, he performed at varios theatres across the island and received several gold, silver and bronze medals due to his successful participation in the national festival awards and later two films , “Going To Extremes”, with Christopher Walken and “scam” with international reggae artist, Maxi Priest. During this time Kassiano studied painting at cornwall college and later went on to the university of the west indies where he graduated with a honours degree in Business management.
Kassiano grew up in a large family of five sisters and two brothers . His father , an architect and his mother a school teacher, spirituality ,discipline and hard work was a constant feature in their home . They owned a farm and would produce most of what they required . They also owned a family construction business and would build everything from schools, roads and bridges to deluxe homes. In 1992 kassiano moved to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico , learnt spanish, and would later land a successful four year three album deal with emi –music records. He would perform in the annual teleton a benefit concert for disabled children ,the Terry Fox Run , a fund raiser for children with cancer and shared the spotlight with big names like Paul Anka. He later learnt to fly, bought a cessna twin engine aircraft and started looking for his sacred place to build his dream and share his ideas about living in a balanced ecosystem by creating a spiritual haven. Kassiano now with a family of his own became really concerned about global warming and the energy imbalance on the planet, he bought property in the 500 year old spiritual town of Talpa de Allende, went back to school ,Trump University to learn more about managing this business and took 4 years to design his project. He then linked up with long time friend Leo Wong and Coldwell Banker to bring his dream to reality and share it with the world.............. Real de Talpa was born.
